Properties impacted by STC Debbie undergo three-month assessment

13 Jul 2017

Queensland Reconstruction Authority teams this week started inspections on 2900 properties impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie (STC Debbie) as part of a post-event three-month damage assessment.

The Damage Assessment and Reconstruction Monitoring System (DARMSys) visits are being undertaken in the eight council areas most impacted by STC Debbie to capture progress of housing reconstruction since STC Debbie crossed the Queensland coast on 28 March 2017.

The assessments are being conducted as a follow-up to those undertaken by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Reconstruction Authority straight after STC Debbie, and will assess the status of reconstruction works.

Staff from the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services joined the Queensland Reconstruction Authority to undertake assessments from 10-21 July 2017 in the Mackay, Whitsunday, Isaac, Rockhampton, Livingstone, Logan, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast council areas.
