Get Ready Queensland Resilient Australia Awards

18 Oct 2017

Three Queensland initiatives have been recognised for their contribution to disaster resilience and relief in this year’s Get Ready Queensland Resilient Australia Awards.

Logan City Council’s Flooded Road Smart Warning System, Aidforce (formerly Aidtaskers) and the Good Shepherd Microfinance ‘Money Ready Toolkit’ were announced as winners by Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure and Planning Jackie Trad as part of Get Ready Queensland Week from 8-15 October.

Uniting Care Queensland’s Recovery Kitchen Cookbook and Livingstone Shire Council’s Get Ready, Get Active Livingstone were Highly Commended in the awards, which promote innovative strategies to help strengthen and prepare our communities for the next inevitable disaster.

The 2017 Get Ready Queensland Resilient Australia Award winners will now represent Queensland at the national awards in November 2017.
